How this differs from a shared plan
On a shared plan you reach the internet through a node you share with other people. That is fine right up until one of them ruins the reputation of the address: then the captchas and refusals arrive for everyone at once, you included. On a private server the address is yours, and there is nobody to spoil it.
Why banks and services care
The addresses of well-known VPN providers are collected into lists, and services act on them: an extra check in one place, a declined payment in another, a blocked sign-in in a third. The address of a separate machine is not on those lists, because nobody but you goes through it.
Changing country, and switching off
We move the server to another country on request, and the address changes within minutes. Switching off is immediate: the surcharge stops, and your access on the ordinary plan stays.
Common questions
- Is it a dedicated machine or a container?
- Dedicated. The hardware is reserved for you, the channel is not shared with neighbours, and evening hours do not affect speed the way they do on a shared node.
- Can a different protocol be set up on it?
- Yes. On a private server we bring up the protocol you ask for — on shared nodes the set is the same for everyone.
